Planning Your Cape Town Visit

A visit to Table Mountain

You can buy a ticket online for either a morning or afternoon trip to the top by cable car. However, an excursion to the 3,500-foot summit always depends on the weather, so check it before you go. It’s wise to bring a sweater with you, and wear sunblock and proper footware. If you plan hiking to the peak or along one of the trails at the summit, be safe and bring water, snacks and a friend.

How safe is it?

As in any other city you visit, it’s always best to keep your wits about you. It is recommended to take a taxi in Cape Town at night, rather than walking, and be on your guard when withdrawing cash at an ATM. If you’re curious about visiting a township, then go with a group led by an experienced guide.

When to go

Cape Town has a temperate climate. October to April offer warm and dry weather, but the notorious south-easter winds occur from December through January. February to mid-April has great beach weather, and hiking enthusiasts will enjoy crisp, clear days from late April to early June.

How many days should you spend in Cape Town?

Four to five full days allow you to experience the sites and sounds of the Mother City at a leisurely pace. Stay longer if you’d like and use the city as a base to explore the beautiful, surrounding areas in the Western Cape, such as the wine region of Stellenbosch.

I recently booked a 30-day trip to India with Nomadic Globe and had an amazing experience exploring the beautiful country. As a traveler from New Zealand, I was a bit apprehensive about the trip, but the owner of Nomadic Globe, Manan Shah, was incredibly helpful and made the entire experience seamless. I visited some of the most popular destinations in India, including Kashmir, Rajasthan, Kerala, Goa, and Mumbai, and each place was breathtakingly beautiful. The accommodations arranged by Nomadic Globe were top-notch, from luxurious hotels to cozy homestays. Manan Shah's knowledge of the country and its culture was invaluable in making the trip even more special. He helped me plan my itinerary and provided excellent recommendations for things to see and do in each location. Overall, I had an unforgettable experience in India thanks to Nomadic Globe and Manan Shah. If you're a traveler from New Zealand, I highly recommend booking your next trip to India with them

My parents recently went on a group tour to Nepal with Nomadic Globe, along with 15 other senior citizens who had come all the way from the USA. I am in Canada, and the thought of them traveling and being alone didn't settle well with me. But little did I know that I didn't need to worry. They had concerns about finding proper vegetarian and Jain food options, but the team at Nomadic Globe went above and beyond to ensure everyone on the trip was well-fed and satisfied. The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly, giving them a deep insight into the local culture and history. He was very patient and wasn't rushing around, which helped my parent's other members travel hassle-free. They ensured the itinerary was perfectly tailored to their interests and preferences, with an outstanding balance of activities and relaxation time. One thing that really stood out to my parents was the availability of the owner Manan Shah, who was always accessible and willing to assist with any concerns they had during the trip. This level of personalised service and attention to detail truly made their experience with Nomadic Globe exceptional. Moreover, the quality of the hotels provided by Nomadic Globe was impressive. They stayed at 5-star hotels throughout the trip, which added to the overall comfort and luxury of their experience. And the best part is that despite the high-quality hotels, Nomadic Globe offered very competitive and cheap rates, making it accessible to a broader range of travellers. As a concerned daughter, I was worried about my parents' safety and comfort while traveling alone, especially since they both suffered from leg pains. However, the team at Nomadic Globe and the owner reassured me that I didn't have to worry and would be taken care of, and true to their words, they went above and beyond to ensure that my parents had a comfortable and stress-free trip. They provided them with comfortable vehicles, accommodations, and planned activities suitable for their physical limitations. The team also proactively addressed issues during the journey, ensuring my parents felt supported and cared for. Thanks to the beautiful team at Nomadic Globe, my parents had an incredible time in Nepal. I highly recommend Nomadic Globe to anyone looking for a safe, comfortable, and stress-free travel experience, with the added bonus of affordable luxury. Thank you, Nomadic Globe, for taking such good care of my parents and their fellow travellers from the USA!
